Fretus Waste Services Pty Ltd Limited is a privately owned and operated Australian family business with a proud history of being affiliatd with the New South Wales waste industry since 1890.
The Fretus family previously operated held the Ku-ringai Council collection contracts for a record forty-six years and held numerous other municipal collection contracts with Gosford, Hurstville, Hornsby, Tamworth, Wollondilly and Shellharbour.
The Fretus family has been involved in all facets and aspects of the waste management industry over the last 126 years. A significant number of achievements that today we take for granted are directly attributable to the family’s pioneering spirit, progressive thinking, foresight and vision.
George Fretus imported from the United States the first mobile garbage bins, known as “Rapid Rail” which were trailed and successfully introduced in 1978 at Ku-ringai Council. The quest for greater operational efficiency lead to the importing of the first one arm side loading collection vehicle and thus changing municipal collection forever. The Fretus family is committed to improving the professionalism of the industry, and were the driving force and founding members of the Waste Contractors and Recyclers Association of New South Wales.
The company’s management team of Managing Director, George Fretus, and his son and Operations Manager, Anthony, have a combined 75 years experience in the waste and recycling collection industry. Being a family owned business allows us to focus exclusively on customer service, needs for our clients with outstanding reliability.
